Σκοποί και Στόχοι του μαθήματος

In recent years the development of several high throughput techniques has led to a flood of biological data (sequences, interactions, structures, etc.) that greatly helps to investigate biological/medical problems using statistics, bioinformatics and computational modeling. However, for this a working knowledge of programming is necessary, as well as awareness of the major biological databases that are available on the internet. This module will therefore provide a practical introduction to the widely popular programming languages Python and Java and give an overview of selected databases.
